#BreakupRevenge #TaylorWho?

By Teoti Anderson, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP

From heartbreak to custom-tailored Gucci threads—turns out Tom Hiddleston is riding out his split from Taylor Swift in style.

Joining the likes of Vanessa Redgrave and Jared Leto as Gucci's newest face, Hiddleston rocks a range of timeless looks. Filmed at the Beverly Hills estate of the late design great Tony Duquette, he shows off alongside three perfectly primped Afghan Hounds. Where fashion, fame, and stunning dogs collide, you know we'll be front and center!

Goal: Teach your puppy his name as an attention cue. You want him to glance up and come running when you say it. This is the bedrock exercise for all family manners.

Tip: Try not to call more than once, or he won’t learn to respond the first time.

#2. Mental Stimulation with Brain Games

Goal: Give your puppy a mental workout and support brain development.

Tip: Some puppies catch on fast, others need more time. Be patient and cheer the effort, not just the result!

#3. The Art of Sharing

Goal: Teach your puppy to share with you—handy for channelling those needle teeth onto a toy during cuddle time.

Tip: Pick a moment when your puppy isn’t wired and zooming. If she wants to run, she won’t be in the mood for this one.

#4. Chew on Toys, Not My Stuff

Goal: Teach your puppy to make better choices with those teeth! Keep a variety of hard plastic or rubber chews plus food-stuffed toys. Skip stuffed animals—they just train him to chew soft things like your clothes and pillows. Don’t turn household items (bottles, socks) into toys.

Tip: Scatter toy options wherever your pup is allowed, so he gets the chance to choose well.

#5. Full-Body Handling Exercises

Goal: Teach your puppy to enjoy being handled everywhere. This skill lets you care for him—and helps your vet and groomer too. If he needs eye drops or ear meds, you want cooperation, not avoidance or aggression.

Tip: If your puppy mouths you, turns his head, or licks rapidly, he’s saying that spot bugs him. Make the next touch shorter—even one finger—until he relaxes.

The Critical Role of Socialization in Puppyhood

“There is no medical reason to delay puppy and kitten classes or social exposure until the vaccination series is completed, as long as exposure to sick animals is prohibited, basic hygiene is practiced, and diets are high quality,” says the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). “The risks attendant with missing social exposure far exceed any disease risk.”

The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) agrees, stating, “… it should be the standard of care for puppies to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated.”

How to train it

1

Say the cue once, clearly, in a happy voice - then wait.

2

The instant the wanted behavior happens, mark it with a cheerful Yes!

3

Reward within one second so the win is impossible to miss.

4

Add one small distraction at a time, and reward the brave choices.
